West Virginia Water Research Institute (WVWRI) at West Virginia University
WVWRI serves as a statewide vehicle for performing research related to water issues and is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the natural environment through research and outreach with industry, government agencies, academia, and citizens groups. The Northern Brownfields Assistance Center is one program coordinated by WVWRI.

The Southern Brownfields Assistance Center is coordinated by CEGAS. By providing educational offerings, research, services, and long-term planning for regional development, CEGAS seeks to forge close relationships among the business community, higher education institutions, and government agencies, in technology-based endeavors
WV Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP)
The WVDEP is the state agency charged with managing the remediation of lands that are affected by environmental contamination under the Division of Land Restoration. The Office of Environmental Remediation oversees the state's Voluntary Remediation Program which assists property owners identify and address a site's potential contamination.
National Institute for Chemical Studies (NICS
NICS is a nonprofit organization based in Charleston, WV that works through federal, state, county and local government agencies as well as businesses on a broad range of projects related to chemical risks in communities.
US EPA Region 3
The Environmental Protection Agency is a federal agency that aims to protect human health and the environment through a wide variety of programs. Regional Offices are responsible for the execution of the Agency's programs at the state level. Region 3 serves the Mid-Atlantic States, including West Virginia.
WV Development Office (WVDO)
As the state's chief economic and community development agency, the West Virginia Development Office improves the quality of life for all West Virginians by strengthening the state's communities and expanding its economy to create more and better jobs.
The Community Development Division of the West Virginia Development Office encourages strong civic engagement in the administration of programs designed to improve the quality of life in communities throughout West Virginia.
